Hetal and Hemant’s love story began in 2004. At the time, it was just a story of friendship. They met as high school juniors at different schools, who would spend their time getting ice cream (Hetal’s favorite) and chatting for hours in Hemant’s car.

They both went to college at Rutgers, where their friendship continued with endless movie nights and Hemant surprising Hetal with late night Taco Bell runs (another of Hetal’s favorites).

After graduating from college, they went their separate ways. No matter where life took them, they always found their way back to each other, catching up over sporadic dinners, followed by more ice cream. But no matter how many ice cream dates they shared, Hetal had no idea that Hemant was developing a crush on her.

After a friendship spanning almost 15 years, Hetal and Hemant ran into each other at a friend’s reunion party. The night again ended with them talking for hours on end, just like they had in high school. They realized that no matter how much time had passed and how their lives had changed, when they were together, it always felt right. They promised to make more of an effort to stay in touch and to be constants in each other’s lives.

They did just that. The following weeks, months, and years were a whirlwind of adventures -- hiking trips, vacations, stargazing under the Milky Way, more ice cream, and the biggest adventure of all -- falling in love.
